A CLEAR VISION

Woodharbor Doors & Cabinetry, Inc. was founded by Curtis, Dennis and Jon Lewerke in October of 1993. With several years of prior experience in custom home building and over 15 years of prior history in the manufacturing of custom kitchen and bath cabinetry, the Lewerke brothers brought to Woodharbor a clear vision and an exciting new product niche.

In the 1970's, the Lewerkes were custom home builders. Unsatisfied with the quality of the cabinetry available to them, they began manufacturing their own line of cabinetry for the homes they built. That cabinetry, Fieldstone, became known nationwide in the kitchen and bath cabinetry industry for its excellence in quality and design. Fieldstone Cabinetry, Inc. was founded in 1978 by Curtis, Dennis and Jon Lewerke and was sold to Masco Corporation in 1985. The Lewerkes continued at the helm of Fieldstone until 1993 when they founded Woodharbor Doors & Cabinetry, Inc. with a new and exciting product niche idea they called the Woodharbor Home.

BREAKING NEW GROUND

The "whole home concept" of interior millworks is one that has not been accomplished within a large-scale manufacturing operation. The Lewerkes were breaking new ground by making this concept the core of their entire production, marketing and sales philosophies. It was a concept they coined "The Woodharbor Home" - a complete line of interior millworks that complement and match each other in design, quality and finish.

Traditionally, interior doors and cabinetry are two completely separate and very different product lines. Custom cabinetry is manufactured on an order by order basis and sold directly to dealers and designers. Custom cabinetry is traditionally finished at the factory with hundreds of wood, finish and design options available.

Interior doors, on the other hand, are traditionally mass-manufactured and sold by the truckload to distributors who sell them to local lumber yards. (Design options and wood species are very limited.) Those doors are then sold to builders who hire a finish contractor to finish the doors and the rest of the home millworks (i.e. window and door casing, flooring, mantels, etc.) Often times, additional stain or paint is requested from the cabinetry supplier so that the finish contractor can try to achieve a matching finish on the doors and millworks.

DOORS WITH A DIFFERENCE

Woodharbor Interior Doors are manufactured with a philosophy similar to that of cabinetry ... Woodharbor Interior Doors are built per order rather than mass produced. A variety of wood species are available -oak, maple, cherry, hickory, birch, poplar, mahogany and knotty alder -and hundreds of door designs -raised panels, flat panels, molded doors, french doors, arched doors and more. All are available with a beautiful factory finish in your choice of finish colors or a custom color.

The Lewerkes brought their experience in fine cabinet-making to the wood door industry, adding some very unique and exclusive features to a Woodharbor door that sets them apart from all other interior doors.
